Detailed Procedures

  • Treadmill Test (TMT)
The stress test, or treadmill test, helps diagnose the presence and extent of coronary artery disease. It shows how well your heart handles physical workload. During the test, various parameters like heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure are monitored.
  • Holter Monitoring
In this method, a lightweight, portable monitor records the electrocardiogram (ECG) for 24 hours, allowing for diagnosing abnormal heart rhythms during normal daily activities.
  • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
In cases where standard echocardiograms face difficulty, TEE is used. A probe is passed into the esophagus, providing a clearer picture of the heart without interference from lungs or ribs.
  • Cardiac Catheterization
A diagnostic procedure to examine blood flow and the pumping efficiency of the heart. A catheter is inserted into an artery to access the heart, helping cardiologists assess any blockages in the coronary arteries.
  • Coronary Angiography
This procedure uses a balloon to open blockages in coronary arteries caused by atherosclerosis (plaque buildup), enabling better blood flow. Angioplasty helps improve symptoms like angina, reduce heart attack damage, and lower the risk of death for certain patients.
